24th thing

I was trying desperately to do the last thing required, and I saw most of the OS video, until I was cut off from an automatic update which refused to give me the option of waiting later, even though it came up as an option.
So here are my impressions: I saw about one hour, so I did not get the newest of it all.
From Bill Gates letter in 1976 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Letter_to_Hobbyists, via Richard Stallman and the password requirement at MIT to Unix 1984 WITH ITS CLIENT SERVER AGREEMENT and 5 years to develop GNU to Linus Thorwalds program to divide programs into smaller segments Linux with the Apache and Red Hat with more than 200.000 users in 1995 and jump to 1997 800.000 users.
All about Netscape and Jim Barksdale imposing decision for communicating until Mozilla, and Open office!at our local library!
What an evolvement in so short a time.
Was it boring? Nope, because it gave me an historial background for what we are dealing with right now, and if we do not know our history we are doomed to repeat it.

"Kindle" mass early

http://www.newsweek.com/id/70983
When I was writing about Kindle the Newsweek was writing an article about it.
It is not an endorsement, but a curious brain trying to understand evolution as it happens.
On some of the entries on Newsweek's blog I have seen a professor emeritus complain about how art books could not be shown on "kindle" and then a teacher applauding the gadget which will one day be revolutionizing the world. All we really need is combine Kindle and I phone, and the all connected Internet, WoW.
The professor needs to remember that people now watch movies on little screens and the teacher is certainly more correct.
The only thing again that worries me is all the electronic wibes we get.

Wikis and know-how

My husband who works in the industry is contemplating of having
to set up a inter-company wiki to collect all the company's know-how.
Apparently it is being done all ovrer the world in the big companies.
